hey colin!

when i hear something from the coach like, "we have to win" i get the feeling hes a little panicky.

no poop everyteam in the nhl "has to win" , but like kevR posted a few days ago, i think this teams time has past. When the habs use to play the flames i was always nervous, calgary was a hard team to play. especially at the dome. now not so much. theres nothing on the team that will intimidate their opponents, except for maybe kipper. and thats just plain wrong. im so sick of the team riding kipper and then with a win or 2 they (the management) and the fans will say its a good team. we need to build off those wins bla blah blah. Systematicly the team is a bust. you cant win with kipper making 40 saves and you manage 20... the wrong type of game.

to grasp at straws is the wrong attitude as well, ie "we need to win" . flames are last, theres nothing in the dressing room or in the minors that can right the ship like the say the habs have. its trully a sad situation for a great franchise. one of my fav team too..

Another positive note - both the Flames and the Kings have the most games in hand in the West.

Quisp does an excellent job of accounting for that by tracking "points blown", which is just points left on the table due to losses. From that perspective, the Flames are currently tied for 2 points out of a playoff spot. Assuming they don't squander the 2-3 games in hand of course. Take a look:

Unfortunately even with games in hand there really is no positive spin here. The Flames have proved time and time again for the last number of years they are way too inconsistent to get it done. It's engrained in the culture, that's why no matter what players or coaches you bring in it's always the same story. Time to dump the one thing that hasn't changed....Ken King.

I'm actually glad they got worked on the weekend, and I hope they get worked tonight. Maybe it will wake the organization (ahem, Ken King) up a little bit. The first step to recovery is realization.

I still think there's a way to get MacKinnon and Drouin.

Step 1: Collapse and get a top 3 pick

Step 2: Acquire as many first round picks as possible via trades (Ig, Kip, J Bo etc.)

Step 3: Package those picks for ANOTHER pick in the top 3 (most likely will have to include someone else in this deal I.E. Backlund, Brodie)

Step 4: Draft MacKinnon and Drouin 1-2, 1-3, 2-3, 2-4 ALA the Sedin Twins

Step 5: Baertschi-MacKinnon-Drouin

Not sure why you assume Feaster drafts MacKinon or Drouin. The guy he thought was best in last year's draft was on no one's list.

Calgary would be a solid Lindy Ruff team.

I would keep JBo over Gio at this point. JBo looks like a new player with Hartley. Gio has been struggling but I think there are teams that would still love to have him.

Ya those weren't specific deals, but you just gotta deal whoever to get another 2 first rounders to create a package to get another pick in the top 4.

Even if they grabbed MacKinnon and Barkov, set down the middle for 20 years!!!

NOW IS THE TIME and we would only have to suffer for 24 games!
